The former Leicester City and Chelsea star, currently playing for Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia, is considering a move away from the club after two seasons in the Saudi Pro League. The
Turkish outlet claims that current Besiktas manager Solskjaer has expressed his desire to sign Kante this summer and has already started talks with the player.
Ahead of the January transfer window, it was claimed by The Guardian that West Ham were keen on signing the veteran midfielder.
The newspaper reported that the Hammers were prepared to activate Kante’s £21million release clause at Al-Ittihad, but the Saudi Pro League club were keen to keep the Frenchman at least until the summer.
Besiktas are expected to make an offer to the 34-year-old midfielder after the end of the season, with Solskjaer having already informed the club’s board of directors of his desire to sign him. The
Turkish newspaper reports that Kante, who has won 64 caps for France, is also interested in joining Besiktas and is willing to take a pay cut to make the move happen.
