Ruben Amorim has defended and remained confident in Andre Onana despite his late error in Lyon’s 2-2 draw in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final, admitting he has made more mistakes than he has as a manager in the past.

In the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals, Man U almost won against Olympique Lyonnais but Rayan Cherki followed up and tied the game 2-2 in the 90+5 minute. Andre Onana was the one who made the team tie even though they should have won, with the Red Devils conceding a goal first. Andre Onana swatted away a free kick, allowing Thiago Almada to score. Although Leni Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee headed the ball to tie the game at the end of the first half and headed it late in the game to put the team ahead, Onana failed to swatte away a shot from Georges Mikautze, allowing the team to tie the game in stoppage time.

After the game, Portuguese coach Ruben Amorim admitted that Andre Onana was the one who made the mistake and was disappointed that the team had to concede a goal late in the game, but also admitted that he had made more mistakes in the past few months.

“If you look at this season, I’ve made more mistakes than them in the last games and in the last few months.”

“There’s nothing I can say to Andre right now that will help him, so the most important thing is to be natural. Then when the time comes, I will choose the best 11 players to play. But I’m really confident in Andre.”

“The main thing is to focus on the next game in the league and then think about the second game against Lyon. When one person makes a mistake, the whole team makes a mistake, so we will continue like this.”

Asked if he still believes in the goalkeeper, Amorim told คาสิโนออนไลน์ UFABET ฝากถอนรวดเร็ว เริ่มต้นเล่นง่าย Sports: “We will continue to do the same thing, train, watch games and try to pick the best 11 players who can win every game.”

For the second leg, Manchester United will return to Old Trafford on Thursday, April 17.
